Our Life with Goldens
My name is Rachel Christensen, and I’m a lifelong dog lover, animal enthusiast, and amateur forager. I’m also a homeschooling mom and an active volunteer in our community. My family is comprised of my husband and I, our two wonderful kiddos and of course, our dogs!
We live on 13 gorgeous acres — forest and trails and open pasture — the ultimate playground for our Goldens! Our dogs spend their days racing through tall grass, exploring woodland trails, and of course, playing fetch! Alongside our dogs, we also raise chickens and our girls are great defenders of the flock!
How It All Began
Our journey into breeding began about six years ago when I met my first dark red Golden Retriever. What a beauty! I had a beloved Golden (cross) while growing up and always dreamed of having another, but the rich mahogany coat of the red Golden Retriever instantly captured my heart and imagination.
After two years of research and waiting, we brought home Maple — our CKC-registered red Golden Retriever and the cornerstone of our breeding program. Maple is the perfect blend of beauty, intelligence, and affectionate spirit. After completing her health testing and seeing her outstanding temperament, we knew we wanted to share her qualities with others.
Our Breeding Philosophy
We specialize in dark red field Golden Retrievers — athletic, intelligent, and full of life. Our goal is to raise puppies that are not only stunning but also very healthy, coming from strong lines with health testing. Our pups will be well-socialized and ready to become beloved family companions. Every puppy is raised in our home, on our acreage, surrounded by love, fresh air, and room to grow into confident, happy, well-trained dogs!
